Philadelphia’s Wayne Simmonds scored his 26th goal of the season on Saturday in the Flyers’ loss to Ottawa when teammate Brayden Schenn’s shot went in off the bridge of his nose. He probably should have been seeing a doctor or a facecloth between periods, but Simmonds stopped by instead to talk to Hockey Night in Canada’s Bruce Rainnie.
Rainnie: Have you ever scored a more painful goal?
Simmonds: Um, no, I don’t think so. That one hurt pretty bad. But it went in the net and [murmurous] you do it for the boys and we’ve come back so far so it’s good.
