Edmonton Express: Eddie Shore was one of the heroes for Boston in the Bruins’ first ever playoff match-up against Montreal in March of 1929. Boston went up two games at home in the best-of-five series before travelling north. In the Forum, the Canadiens stormed back in the first period of the third game with goals from Battleship Leduc and Aurele Joliat. It was a lead Montreal couldn’t hold, though, and in the second period Doc Carson and Dutch Gainor tied it up before Shore scored the winner to guide his team into the finals. “The dynamic Eddie,” said the papers, “was a Trojan.”
