leap of leo

Leap of Leo: His father was the original Leo Reise, a defenceman who played one-eyed in the 1920s for the Hamilton Tigers, New York Americans, and the Rangers, too, a partner to Lionel Conacher and Ching Johnson. Leo Jr., above, was the first son of an NHL veteran to play in the league, not to mention a fine hurdler. Starting with the Black Hawks in 1945, he was later a Red Wing and Ranger before winding up his on-ice career as an Owen Sound Mercury in 1955.
