Needle Point: With nary a pandemic in sight, a couple of Red Wings step up for needless admittance to  Detroit’s Osteopathic Hospital in September of 1959. Nurse Ludene McCollom is the one administering the (not identified) serum; defenceman Pete Goegan bares his arm as winger Barry Cullen averts his gaze. Both Wings had suffered knee injuries during the Wings’ pre-season exhibition tour of the West Coast. Cullen was out of the line-up for five weeks, Goegan for two.
