Losing Sight: Insofar as the Leafs’ Bob Nevin shed a contact lens, you’d have to say he came out of his collision with Chicago’s Jack Evans in March of 1962 for the worse. For all the diligent searching that stopped the game (above), that contact was lost for good. That’s Nevin (#11) on his knees by the official on the left. Evans (#5) is the contrite Chicago searcher in the dark sweater to the right. On the bright side, the Leafs won the game. A month later, they beat the same Black Hawks to win the Stanley Cup. Do you happen to have the date of that particular game?
Thanks very much.
