Puck Pursuit: A birthday today for the great Bob Gainey, who’s 70 today: here’s to him. Born on a Sunday of today’s date in Peterborough, Ontario, he was captaining Montreal on the Tuesday night of January 5, 1982 when the Canadiens beat the visiting Boston Bruins by a score of 3-1.
